Dear colleague,

The growing research field of abstract argumentation was originated in 1995 by Phan Minh Dung's seminal paper "On the Acceptability of Arguments and Its Fundamental Role in Nonmonotonic Reasoning, Logic Programming, and n-Person Games". The paper's profound impact on the development of computational argumentation research and of AI research in general is universally recognized, as also witnessed by it winning the 2018 AIJ Classic Paper Award.

In its 11th volume (2020), the Argument & Computation journal has published a special double issue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this fundamental contribution. The aim of the special issue is to provide an up-to-date view of the vitality and richness of Dung's theory. The issue contains 6 papers collected on the basis of an open call for papers and selected on the basis of three peer reviews per paper.
