Cathy Marbury retired as Associate Director of Religious Education on Tuesday, March 3. We are so grateful for Cathy's 27 years of service in the Archdiocese (eight of those years in OFD) and will greatly miss her!

Safe Haven Sunday
The second annual Safe Haven Sunday is March 22nd. All parishes are encouraged to participate in this day to help build awareness and equip parents to safeguard and monitor digital media in their home. Please visit the website to learn how your parish can participate.

Tips For an Effective "Catechist Dinner"
Recognizing your catechists is an important show of gratitude and is also helpful in retaining them. Here are a few tips for an effective catechist dinner:
- Ask the pastor to make an appearance. Even if he can’t stay long, they want to see him.
- Recognize them for years of service. If you don’t have records, ask them when they first served as a catechist and build a database to keep track. Be sure to recognize both the long-time veterans as well as the first-year catechists.
- Present any catechist certification awards earned that year. Seeing others get an award is inspiring and motivating.
- Provide them with an opportunity to recommit at the catechist dinner. The momentum of the evening will be encouraging.
- Check with other ministries or parent groups for help. Is there a music group who would provide live music? Is there a ministry who would help cook or serve?
- Be sure to personally thank each person!

High School Youth Rally
The High School Youth Rally will be at St. Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church on Saturday, March 21, with keynote speakers Leah Darrow and David Bisonó. Cost is $25/person and includes a t-shirt, lunch, and snacks!

Atlanta Catechist Conference Update

The keynote speakers for the 2020 Atlanta Catechist Conference have been announced! Joe Paprocki and Gerardo Salazar will be the English and Spanish speakers respectively.
We will once again be at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Convention Center, Saturday, August 22. The theme this year is: Abide in His Love. Hand it On! Permanece en Su amor. ¡Transmítelo!
Registration will open in the spring. If you are planning to pay for catechists to attend rather than have them pay as individuals, please contact Benedict Esposito.
