A Review on Smartwatch2020 •
Wearable smart devices are already amongst us. Smartwatches are one of the key factors of the wearable technology and are being used by a large population of consumers. Smartwatches are trending devices that give its users the ability to be connected, send/receive emails and messages, and even make calls on the go. Given the phone has been picked out from pocket and now is on hands, a person still needs to do some steps such as unlocking the phone, finding the app. The number of steps involved in checking notifications in smartphone are high and thus a smart watch device is helpful. Smartwatch that are already in this market are advanced and costly. The system we are developing is very small size and low cost. This watch is programmed using Arduino's open source libraries and functions. It provides the user another way to interact with the smartphone. Indexed Terms-Smart device, wearable technology.
The goal of this project is to build a toolkit that designers could use to develop applications for watches. The toolkit should provide access to the watch functionalities (sensor data, display) in a designer friendly environment (Flash, Processing, Max/MSP or others). ... „Ich erkläre hiermit, dass ich die vorliegende Arbeit selbstständig angefertigt, alle Zitate als solche kenntlich gemacht sowie alle benutzten Quellen und Hilfsmittel angegeben habe.“ ... The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of devices, vehicles, buildings and other items which are able to collect and exchange data. IoT devices are furnished with technologies such as electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity in order to function as desired. A smart watch can be considered as an IoT device as they are equipped by almost all necessary technologies. In essence, smart watches are effectively wearable computers with communications and sensing capabilities. Many mobile apps run over smart watches using a mobile operating system. However, as the other IoT devices they are subject to security issues. In this paper, by surveying and reporting the security concerns and issues at smart watches, we aim to raise awareness on this matter. We also propose a road map for a more secure smart watch platform by defining the responsible actors and their responsibilities.

Smart Watch for Elderly Person2022 •
In India ,the current senior citizen population of 130 million is expected to grow more than double to 300 million to constitute 20 percent of the population[1].With a rapidly growing 60-plus population, India is faced with herculean task of providing senior-friendly urban infrastructure. Around 64% of adult fall prey to depression and loneliness in urban area. There is also been a significant increase in crime rate against senior citizens being left at home alone. Also, the senior population is most exposed and vulnerable to Covid-19 infections and fall ill often. This paper aims to develop a smartwatch equipped with health monitoring and fall detection techniques for elderly population using a microcontroller's main component in used in this is an Arduino which is a microcontroller equipped/connected with sensors which can detect the health parameters such as pulse rate, body temperature etc. It also been equipped with fall detection technique which can detect the fall of user wearing the smartwatch and can send SOS to the caretakers concerned with that user. All the previous smartwatches are developed keeping in mind the general population, however this device is solely dedicated to the senior population and act as a health monitoring device.
A Watch for Freedom

Examining how people perceive, and spend, time, this socio-cultural essay begins with signs seen in Venice's 15th century iconic clock Torre dell'Orologio. Insight into how Venetians treat time illustrates a perspective in need of consideration and contemplation. At the heart of the modern Human Condition is a central question: Have we lost certain personal and collective freedoms to the latest apps and devices? Advances once designed to save time now cost it. Hours pass by quickly when engaged in social media, leading to a technological paradigm shift that further accelerates time's passage. Platforms designed to attract attention are as alluring and addictive as any drug, leading to questions about societal foundations. Should we not change course--taking a cue from the Venetians--the semblance of immortality for which many strive may morph into shaky ground akin to quicksand for unrecognized substantive contributions.
