In Maya Shakti Sadhana, you will enter into a living, breathing ritual, where mythology, prayer and spiritual practices are explored as embodied portals of awakening. Practicing from home, you will weave your insights and awakening into daily life, restoring a trust and confidence in the vast resources and support from this achingly beautiful universe, always available to you.

Through daily practice and short sutras of awakening, you will reconnect and recommit yourself to a truth sourced in the universal, yet vibrating uniquely through you.

She shows up as matter,
as the world of form and differences,
yet underneath Her skin She is a shimmering
weaving of energy,
conscious, unfathomably creative,
never not One.

She is a sovereign totality,
the splendorous power of Durga.
She is Kali Ma, the holy destruction.
She is Lakshmi, abundant wealth and beauty.
She is Bhuvaneswari, the cosmic womb
of space and stars.

She is the demon inside the world myth
as well as the triumph of love,
and She is the shimmering veil of perception
 that makes these powers
appear as two.

The magnificent MahaMaya arises out of ancient roots, appearing as perhaps the most paradoxical Goddess throughout the eastern tantric traditions. She is both the Great Liberator who awakens us from the illusion of separation, and the very veil of ignorance that makes us forget the union we are made of. Through this bewildering enigma, She challenges our deeply ingrained habit of fragmenting a reality that is ultimately undividable. She awakens in us authentic power and wisdom, not as a goal in the future but as the process of evolution itself, always happening right here and now.

Our collective fear of the rich wilderness of the feminine has led us to view Maya Shakti as a flaw we should dread and one day be free of. Her illusionary nature has even been used as a means to spiritually bypass our human reality, and the relational, environmental and social challenges we are facing on Earth. However, the Goddess path offers us maps of spirituality not as an escape route “out of here”, but as an awakening into the essential nature of this world as process, as the very body of the Goddess. When we recognize the mythical and universal patterns beneath the surface, we are initiated into a life of deeper contribution and meaning.

In embodied awakening, we are not accessing transcended freedom as an end goal or landing place, but as the very source of life lived as a Yogini. As modern day mystics, we walk with one foot in both worlds, awake to spiritual transcendence simultaneously as we learn to navigate creatively and gracefully in this cosmic dream of life.

Once you see through the many disguises of Maya and realize her true nature as One — that the habitual patterns that bind us are made of the same fabric as that which liberates — she becomes an ally and friend, and you recognize her to be the force of awakening within you that disentangles you from the drama and realigns you with the freedom that you are.

As you walk this courageous path of wholeness, as you stumble and get entangled; as you rise and as you blossom; you slowly learn that each flavor of the Goddess—both the sticky foggy realms as well as Her luminosity—is a path of breadcrumbs leading you into a greater intimacy with this devastating, splendorous weaving that is our world.

“Every sadhana takes me into deeper relationship with the sacred feminine on so many levels.”

I am always blown away by the depth of the practices and the strength of the community that’s created during these online sadhanas. In addition to the sheer joy of learning from someone as inspiring, articulate, genuine and wise as Chameli, every sadhana takes me into deeper relationship with the sacred feminine on so many levels.

"Chameli spoke the wordless things that live on my insides, and I felt fortified by listening each time."

I entered a potent portal of the Great Mother’s embrace and guidance the moment I began the sadhana. The calls helped me reconnect with my own wisdom and rekindle my passion for my spiritual path. Chameli spoke the wordless things that live on my insides, and I felt fortified by listening each time.

What is Shakti Sadhana?

Sadhana means spiritual practice.
Shakti is a name for the feminine creative life force of the universe.

Shakti Sadhana is embodied spiritual practice, where the Goddess is the portal to awakening.

In this practice, you consciously engage with both your inner and outer life, your darkness and your light, essentially seeing all of it as part of the unfathomable wholeness you are made of.

Shakti Sadhana is not a seclusive spiritual practice; it is a path that permeates every aspect of our lives. In the Shakti view, we don’t relate to spirit as separate from matter, but as different expressions of the same totality.

The Yogini circle is a circle of conscious women coming together with a shared intention of embodied awakening. Our online 21 day sadhana immersions are gatherings of several hundred women from all over the planet. Together, we co-create a resonant field of Shakti, which provides each of us with a powerful transmission of awakening.

What will I learn in a 21 Day Sadhana?

The basis for all spiritual exploration in the Women's Wisdom tradition is the insight that that which we are longing for is who we already are. Thus our practice in sadhana is not toward a goal of attainment in the future; it is a process of melting, of unraveling the wisdom and beauty already inherent within each woman.

In ancient Goddess mythology, we find maps supporting us in this awakening process, and you will be initiated into practices from this alive lineage of women's embodied spirituality that Chameli and the Awakening Women community have explored intensively together for more than 15 years.

How does it work?

The sadhana begins Wednesday, May 1. That day you will receive your first email, and you will also be invited into the closed sadhana online group. Once a day (except for the day of the phone retreats), you will receive a short email with a new practice or a poem that will inspire you and keep you on track.

On Saturday, May 4, we will meet for the first of three retreats with Chameli. These phone/webcast retreats (your choice) will take place on Saturdays (May 4, 11 and 18) at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, 19.00 Northern Europe.

The calls will last 90 minutes. The last 30 minutes will be for Q & A. The retreats will be recorded so you can listen to them at any time.

In between the phone retreats, you will practice on your own. You can check in with your Yogini sisters as often as you like in the online Yogini Sadhana circle.

Will I have the time to do sadhana in the midst of a busy life?

You participate as much as is possible for you. To do some practice is better than no practice, and many of the practices are done in the midst of your life, as it is for you.

Once you enter the sadhana, you enter a mandala of Shakti, of transformation. The practices and teachings will, independent of how much you “do”, unfold in unexpected ways.
Who is it for?

If you long to root yourself in a deeper truth, to live awakening in your daily life, to embody Shakti—the divine creative power—more fully, then this sadhana is for you.

We will go deep. We meet in a shared dedication to living awake.
If you feel called, with a sense of YES inside…then claim your seat in the circle.

You don’t need to have any previous experience with these teachings. Our focus in the feminine embodiment practice is on direct experience.

YOUR experience is the authority. Always.

“Chameli Ardagh is masterful at illuminating the ancient Goddess teachings.”

Many of us are inspired by spiritual teachings but to actually embody them, in a daily practice of breathing them in and sweating them out, is a radically different proposition. Chameli Ardagh is masterful at illuminating the ancient Goddess teachings in a way that is supremely tangible for modern women, without sacrificing their depth, creating a kind of frequency that sparks awakening.

With each sadhana, I experience a profound level of trust and commitment amongst my sisters that is unlike any other circle. I’m carried into an ancient yet familiar heart wisdom that cracks open a river of love within me and flowers the depth of my creative force in the world.

"What a relief, what a bliss!  All of me, my being and doing became a practice in total devotion to the Goddess."

This precious month of intensive practice has changed me. I experienced every action, movement, meeting, breath, meal, thought, interaction…as a practice. What a relief, what a bliss! All of me, my being and doing became a practice in total devotion to the Goddess. I am one with the practice. I embodied the practice. It just is, I am no longer separated from it.
