posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The July issue of Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine revealed on Wednesday that the anime adaptation of Natsume Akatsuki's Kemonomichi manga will be a television anime titled Hataage! Kemonomichi ( Rise Up! Animal Road) that will premiere on Tokyo MX and Abema TV on October 2. The magazine also revealed a new visual for the anime. Kadokawa launched an official website for the anime on Wednesday that revealed the anime's staff and cast.

The cast includes Katsuyuki Konishi as Genzō Shibata (left in image above), and Tetsu Inada as MAO (Macadamian Ogre).

Kazuya Miura (DRAMAtical Murder) is directing the anime at ENGI. Touko Machida (Lucky Star, DRAMAtical Murder, Harukana Receive) is in charge of the series scripts. Tomoka Noumi (episode animation director for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Sagrada Reset) is designing the characters.

The manga follows masked wrestler Genzō Shibata, who likes all kinds of animals and creatures. One day he is summoned to another world, where a princess asks him to help kill magical beasts, but he gets mad and puts her in a German suplex. Instead, he begins life as a pet shop owner in the other world.

Akatsuki (Konosuba) writes the series and Baka & Test - Summon the Beasts artist team Mo-suke Mattaku and Yumeuta are providing the art. The duo launched the manga in Shōnen Ace in November 2016. The fourth compiled volume shipped on January 26.
