I think if it is the Wii Sports + Resort collection it definitely can cause this because Resort requires Motion Plus
Looks like it is just plain Wii Sports ( only have the disc, not the case; it was already in the slot ).

Didn't see any messages or tutorials to follow when I loaded a diff disc.

Going to get another copy of the WiiSports disc ( and a few other Nintendo titles to see if either makes a difference).

What disc specifically are you trying to run? It is quite common with games that have Motion Plus support to not load properly if the console is not "marked as if you saw the Motion Plus Guide". To fix this you have to try another game on the disc channel then click on the Instructions and watch all videos, in my case, Wii Sports Resort at first always tried to update if I didnt blocked updates and with them blocked it would crash, after loading Skyward Sword and doing this, is started to work on every game with Motion Plus support. If you dont have any, you have to force an alternate dol, watch all videos, go back to the loader settings, remove the alternate dol values then it will work.
yes very good point. Often when you use tools like Wii Backup Manager it removes update partitions, I'm not sure if it would remove the motion plus video. Either way, an original copy of Wii Sports Resort should work from the disc channel, because this would definitely have the video still on it, and prompt the player to watch it.

@WiiHx4d, the problem is now with playing originals or backups from the disc channel?

re HBB not working, if you got it from ModMii, it's currently outdated. I should just send you the ModMii beta, I have no problem doing this if you're interested. I've posted here a few times that anyone who wants it can PM me for it. Anyway, an updated link for HBB can be located at wii.guide. The wii.guide guys are great, and we recently have been coordinating here and on discord :)

Be careful with WIi Mod Lite, it has motion+ support where MMM doesn't, but WiiMod Lite has a bug, after installing wads, if you press B repeatedly to return to the main menu, and hit B one more time (which is natural to do when going back a number of directories) it will stack dump error. Unfortunately the original creator of WML is on a Chinese forum and he has not responded to Larsenv's attempts to goad him into releasing the source. Technically WML is based on the open source Wii Mod, so he is required by that GPL license to share his code, but he is MIA and whatcha-gonna-do. Usually if you install WADs and it crashes it's not fatal (i.e. likely to cause brick). But if a user is in the middle of a region change and doesn't have bootmii @boot2, well they just uninstalled the Priiloader when they installed the WADs necessary to region change (i.e. a new System Menu version), and they're in the middle of a region change and it may result in a full or partial brick (depending on your definition, with a NAND backup or even just the keys it could be fixed with an infectus chip). TLDR, I don't promote WML because of the (however unlikely) potential for it to brick a console that doesn't have bootmii @ boot2. I don't even use it on my console which has bootmii @ boot2, but then again I have both standard wiimotes and motion plus wiimotes so it's not a big deal to pull out a standard one and use MMM, or use YAWMM if I'm only installing WADs as this is the only WAD manager that supports WM+ remotes (other than WML)

edit: man I refreshed and the same thing happened to me, lol
Looks like it is just plain Wii Sports ( only have the disc, not the case; it was already in the slot ).
Ah must be originals not working then, because who remarks on missing the case of a backup disc?
:)

Alright, I'm a dumbass motherfucker, for some god awful reason I thought it would be smart to change my EmuNAND(used in USB Loader GX) to being on my HDD rather than SD. I used ModMii to make Uneek+DI and shit(and "upgrade" my Nand to include everything possible, cause I'm a dumbass), I broke something while moving files around, because some VC titles stopped working(Master System Titles, it threw an error saying the system was broken or something), and the ones that worked, took too damn long to load (and N64 VC stopped working) I tried to undo everything, but USB Loader GX showed broken channels and then it threw some DSI errors, and everything stopped working.

I think I might've let windows "fix" the HDD, and it made incompatible with the Wii. I'm thinking about formatting everything on the SD and HDD, and beginning from scratch.

I don't want to reflash or mess with the Wii itself, I haven't done anything to it, I just want to fix whatever I broke on the SD and HDD, is there any files on it that are essential to the Wii working that I can't easily replace and I should backup? It's been almost 2 years since I did anything on the Wii, so I don't exactly remember what I shouldn't touch.

you may have gamesaves and Mii's and your usbgx settings and things like that, but nothing else really essential that I can think of that can't be easily redownloaded. To be extra careful, you could backup your data before formatting anything it, including your WBFS folder which almost goes without saying.

edit: oh and if you happened to save some family photos or something on that Wii HDD that just happened to have just enough free space that day 1.5 years ago, you may want to back that up too :)

I think I might've broken USBGX, so that goes out of the window, gamesaves and stuff I will save. I was asking for something like "Do not delete this folder, or Priiloader will break, bootmii is going to freeze, and your console will be in limbo until you replace the folder".

Since I'm doing it from scratch, is there anything new I should know about emuNAND? Like, SD vs HDD, the brief period of time I used on an HDD it seemed like really slow. I also have heard that you can have a emuNAND with the channels, and another with the Saves, if the Channel one was on SD and the Saves on HDD, it would limit the write to SD without reducing the speed so much? Also, does USB Loader GX work with an HDD with multiple partitions or should I just forget about that

I forgot to mention you may want to backup any nand backups and keys you may also have on the HDD\SD, I should have mentioned it earlier

ModMii is in the process of being updated to use the latest version of GX linked below, as well as a number of other changes, msg me if you want the beta release. If you haven't used ModMii to build sneek in the past, the current official release won't work properly without a small fix\workaround outlined in the first post.

Use this version of GX that will be in the next ModMii update
https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/page-1316#post-8856063

There's a lot of nuances about neek, that should probably be asked elsewhere, that being said I am in the process of adding some more important tips to ModMii about these features, and have been collecting a few links with neek info that may be helpful for you, like this one from Cyan
https://gbatemp.net/threads/getting-rock-band-to-work-on-softmodded-wii.580875/page-2#post-9333670

and this recent thread may also have some good neek info for you too
https://gbatemp.net/threads/nand-emulated-sneek-usneek.582067/

USB loaders do work with multiple partitions, but it may make it less compatible with neek setups, I'm not sure about this though. If you go this route, you'll want to make the FAT32 partition the primary\first one. More help on this in ModMii's usbloader set up guide.

Yeah, I think I want that beta.

Do you have any info about the speed? I don't know if the HDD is just that slow, or if it was slow because I haven't set up properly

emunand saves you definitely didnt lost, this happens just with channels, happened to me too a couple of times when I was first setting up. To fix this, use savegame manager gx to extract your emunand saves to another folder, format your sd card using SD Card formatter and use usb loader gx to create a emunand based on your console. What I recommend is making two "emunands", one with the files and folders inside the root of the sd card (emunand) and other inside the nands/01 folder (sneek/uneek). The emunand will be mostly used because it is faster, the sneek/uneek will be used just for problematic games that dont work using the emunand function from custom IOSes (Zelda Majoras Mask, Castlevania Rebirth, Paper Mario...).
I always recommend using emunand or sneek/uneek on sd card only because I had best results using them instead of using emunand/sneek/uneek with USB drives. I advise to use class 10 cards up to 16GB, 32GB works too, but it is a bit slower and it can cause some issues loading games with a lot of DLC (and the downloadable content for the wii is already not that big, 16GB fits a lot of stuff).

Can't you just have one emuNAND and change the loader settings to use Neek just for the problematic games?
Edit because i am an idiot.
You can but sneek doesnt run on any other folder than nands/subfolder (the default is nands/01, but you can rename the 01 folder fine, in my case I have U1 and J1 because i can see what region they are from)
The emunand function works on subfolders but works best if the files and folders are on root.

Hi ModMii fans! I just wanted to share an update. The next modmii release is a week away at the very most. I bundled up a release candidate (or 2 or 3) and shared it with my testers and fellow guide writers for their feedback and review.

That's awesome, any news or just bugfixes?

LOTS of improvements and cool new things! I'm trying to trim the changelog down, currently well over a page.

The 2 bugs mentioned in the first post literally took less than 5 min to fix. This new update has taken at least 350+ hours of my time alone, and I had help recording and editing new modmii videos that took a more time and effort from others!

That's great but when it comes to guides I am just used to text. Comes from the hundreds of hours I poured over game guides in gaming magazines, text files, webpages and so on. I find video guides kind of annoying to use.

That being said I understand other people likes video guides so good for them.

I'm the same way, trust me, just as much effort went into the text\formatting of the guides themselves, not just the videos and gifs

it's hard to estimate the number of pages because I'm working in notepad ++ without traditional pages like word, so just for fun I actually just copied and pasted it into word and it's currently about 3 pages!! lol

And I trimmed a bunch already!

Yes, I've updated all 3 main usbloaders, Nintendont, savegame manager gx, homebrew browser, priiloader and more!

Edit: to clarify, I just updated the binaries in modmii, the actual updates to these apps are obviously all done by the original devs (I. E. DacoTaco for priiloader, blackb0x for gx, fledge68 for Wiiflow, etc).
